2. Itinerary & Summer Tour Dates

West Trek Tours travel on two routes, Northern and Southern to the Rocky Mountains. Both routes utilize all the same activities and accommodations just in reverse order.  Below outlines the itinerary for a typical Northern Route.

 Depart Vancouver at 9:00 am.


Travel over the Coastal Mountains on the scenic Coquihalla Highway
Tour north through the territory devastated by the great forest fires of 2003
Visit stunning Spahats Falls
Arrive in the city of Blue River or Valemount.

Day 2  Depart Blue River or Valemount at 7:45 am.


Mt. Robson (the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies!) if visibility permits
Visit the city of Jasper, a beautiful little Rocky Mountain village
Travel the scenic Icefields Parkway with all of the following stops:
Stop at thundering Athabasca Falls
Visit the Columbia Icefields and the world famous "Ice Explorer" tour (optional & in season) 
Visit the famous Peyto Lake (in season) and Bow Lake
Crowfoot Glacier

Check-in to our hotel in the city of Canmore for the night.

 

Day 3  Depart Canmore at 8:00 am.


Visit the city of Banff - the most famous town in the Canadian Rockies. You will have lots of time to explore, hike, sightsee, or shop. You can even rent a canoe to explore the Bow River or rent a bike to head to the nearby trails
Take a ride to the top of the Sulphur Mountain on the gondola (optional)

Visit stunning Lake Louise - Canada's most famous lake
Visit amazing Emerald Lake (in season)
Check-in to hotel in the city of Revelstoke

Day 4  Depart Revelstoke at 8:00 am.


Travel over Rogers Pass and through Glacier National Park and Yoho National Park
See beautiful Shuswap Lake - the heart of BC's summer playground
Stop in the city of Kamloops on the "rain shadow" side of the mountains
Take a hike through the amazing Othello Tunnels
Arrive back in Vancouver at approx. 6:30 pm

Rather than a set meal plan where everyone eats the same thing at the same place at the same time - you get to pick what, where, and when you eat!

We will provide you with vouchers and coupons for various restaurants along our route that will help you save money on your meals.
