July 5, 2012 – Vancouver Tourism Awards Ceremony
We would like to congratulate our very own Lee Henderson for winning the prestigious Vancouver Tourism Award for the month of February, 2012. With thousands of tourism industry workers in Vancouver and several hundred nominations every month, this is a great honour! Here is part of his introduction speech by Lesley Fordham:
“On behalf of everyone at West Trek I want to say how proud we all are of Lee. … Lee is a man of many hats at West Trek. He is the Sales Manager, Marketing Manager, our top tour guide, AND the Manager of the guides. However, his official title (the one that appears on his business cards) is the Governor of Given’r.
The area where Lee most Givers’r and gives’r the hardest is in his role as a tour guide. And recognizing his role as an outstanding guide is the reason we are honouring him today! On tour Lee has the ability to bring together a group of strangers from all over the world to form a temporary family. … I know his passengers leave his tour with amazing new friends and memories and Lee is at the centre of those memories. … Lee has the ability to bring his passengers out of their comfort zone and create an unforgettable experience on his tours.”
CANADA DAY in the ROCKIES, 2012
We would like to thank the hundreds of guests and all of the schools and agents that we work with for helping to make this past Canada Day in the Rockies are busiest and most successful ever! We set a new record for the number of guests that we took to the Rockies to share Canada Day with us!
