TOUR  OVERVIEW

Our Portland Tours have been very popular with ESL students and International students studying in Vancouver.  They provide an affordable way to visit Portland for those who want great tours at a budget price!

With the NBA pulling out of Seattle, Portland is now the closest city to Vancouver to offer NBA games.  So, if you are looking to take in an NBA game while in Vancouver, join us as we had to Portland, Oregon for a weekend of fun and adventure.

Portland, known as the “City of Roses”, offers lots of character, charm, nightlife and a pretty good NBA team!  Big city excitement and small town charm make Portland one of the favourite destinations in the Pacific Northwest.  Portland is approx. 110 kms from the Pacific Ocean in a magnificent setting between the sparkling waters of the Columbia and Willamette Rivers.

Portland’s historic old town, Saturday Market, Tax free shopping, largest book store in the world and Nike corporate headquarters all keep guests busy!  Transit is free all through the downtown core and, at night, you can view the spectacular lights of the city.

Multnomah Falls is situated just 30 minutes away from the downtown core and is the second highest year round waterfall in the USA!  For those guests interested in the Outlet Mall Shopping, the Woodburn Outlet Mall hosts over 100 stores for guests to indulge their shopping pleasures.

This tour is normally offered on a mini coach so seats are limited and we encourage all participants to sign up early.

TOUR ITINERARY (sample)

Day One

7:15 am – Meet across the street from the front doors of Waterfront Skytrain & Seabus Station at the corner of Seymour St. & Cordova St.

7:30 am – Bus departs

The bus can’t wait for you so arrive early to avoid the last minute panic.

Your Portland Tour starts right away as you make your way south through Richmond and pass both over, and under, the Fraser River. Our guide will explain the border procedure to you and provide assistance.  Please make sure that you have $6US for the border fee.  Exact change is preferred as it speeds up the border process.

Once we arrive in Portland:

* City driving tour

* Pittock Mansion Park

* Washington Park

* Pioneer Square

* Old Town

* Waterfront Park

* Portland State University

* Powell’s Book store (the largest bookstore in the world!)

* Optional – Night activities, Mini Golf or, on select dates, NBA game.

 

Day Two

After breakfast we continue our tour:

Woodburn Outlet Mall (3 to 4 hours)

Free time for shopping or sightseeing

Multnomah Falls – Hike up the falls!  The 2nd highest year round waterfall in the US!

Duty Free Shopping

9:00 pm – Arrive back in Vancouver

 

TOUR NOTES

What to bring & Policies:

- Passport & US Visa (B1 / B2)

- All passengers must have a USA TRAVEL VISA or be from a USA Visa friendly country such as Japan, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. If in doubt, CHECK BEFORE YOU GO.

- PASSPORTS must be valid and be machine-readable

- Copy of Airplane Ticket showing a departure flight or student registration in Canada

- Everyone must pay US Immigration $6USD at the border to process entry. PLEASE HAVE EXACT CHANGE READY BEFORE THE BORDER.

- Passengers are responsible to have proper documentation. NO refunds if you are turned back at the border.

- Student ID

- Proof of medical insurance

- Good walking shoes

- Fruit vegetables, meat or cheese cannot enter the USA

- Change your spending money to American $ before the trip (approximately $50)

- We recommend that you pay at least 10 days before departure to avoid disappointment

- The tour is NON-REFUNDABLE within 7 days of departure

- NO REFUND if you fail to show up at the meeting spot on time
