Day 1 – Travel from Vancouver to Golden


7:00 am – Meet at the corner of West Cordova St & Seymour St opposite Waterfront Station

Hope – where the original Rambo First Blood movie was filmed

Scenic Coquihalla Highway made famous for it’s winter conditions in “Highway Through Hell”

Kamloops lunch stop

Revelstoke rest stop and pick up dinner supplies and then we journey over Rogers Pass

6:30 pm Check in to the famous Mountain View Cabins**!  These rustic cabins are tucked away in the forest overlooking the Columbia Valley with stunning views of the Selkirk Mountains.  And the best part – – they are EXCLUSIVE to West Trek!  No other tour companies stay here.  Just us.

Evening campfire with roasted marshmallows and s’mores plus as an added bonus you can enjoy a ‘glow hike’ on snowshoes – another West Trek exclusive!


Day 2 – Golden to Banff


7:30 am – Breakfast at the cabins (included)

Travel through majestic Yoho National Park en route to Banff National Park.

Stop at the famous Lake Louise and go Ice Skating* (optional extra) on the frozen lake or explore the stunning chateau and area.

Enjoy a breath taking ice hike through Johnston Canyon to the Lower Falls which are best seen from inside a cave!

Arrive in the beautiful mountain village of Banff surrounded by towering snow capped peaks.

You have the chance to do the world-famous Banff Gondola* (optional extra) for a majestic sight-seeing experience on top of Sulphur Mountain.

Check into our hotel in downtown Banff.

Free time to explore the town, shop for souvenirs and have dinner with new friends at one of the many restaurants in town.

Later in the evening join your tour guide for a ‘party night on the town’! (New Years Eve party on our December 30th departure)


Day 3 – Banff to Golden


Today you have the option to ski or snowboard at the World Famous Lake Louise Ski Resort.  You can catch a shuttle from town and we will pick you up in the afternoon.  Lake Louise Ski Resort was awarded “Canada’s best Ski Resort” by the 2017 World Ski Awards.

For those not skiing or boarding:

Visit picturesque Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake.

You have the option to go for a relaxing and refreshing soak in the Banff Hot Springs*.

Free time in Banff to visit Bow Falls made famous in the the 1954 movie River of No Return with Marilyn Monroe.  Or you can explore the beautiful Fairmount Banff Springs Resort.

4:00 pm – pick up the skiers and boarders at Lake Louise.

Visit frozen Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park – – one of the most underrated lakes in the Rocky Mountains.

After stopping in Golden for some free time and dinner we check back in to our home-away-from-home  Mountain View Cabins.

Last night campfire – this is often referred to as the best night of the tour, where you can party and enjoy the cabin atmosphere with your new friends from the tour. (New Years Eve party on our December 29th departure)


Day 4 – Golden to Vancouver


7:30 am – Breakfast at the cabins.

Stop in Revelstoke.

Pass by Shuswap Lake – a favourite with Albertans and British Columbians alike.

Kamloops lunch stop.

Arrive back in Vancouver where your unforgettable journey to the Canadian Rocky Mountains will all-too-soon come to an end.

*These are optional activities (however strongly recommended!). Please see “Dates and Prices” for more details. The Ice Skating activity is a seasonal activity–we need snow and ice for this to happen!

**Please note that on tour dates with multiple busses, one night will be spent at the cabins, and one night will be spent in a hotel. Other variations to route and/or activities may apply due to unforeseen circumstances. Times are estimated to the best of our ability and are subject to change.**

All prices are based on four people sharing one room and two queen sized beds, however, you can upgrade your room for a small fee:

Optional Activities:

Banff Gondola $55

Cruise for fourteen glorious minutes in a fully enclosed gondola to one of the Banff National Park’s greatest views! From 2088m (6850ft), the spectacular scenery is yours to explore at will. Take a stroll along the 2-kilometre ridge top boardwalk to the peak of Sulphur Mountain and enjoy 360-degree views of the Rocky Mountains and beyond!


Banff Hot Springs $9

Soak in the steamy hot mineral water where travellers have come to “take the waters” for over a hundred years. Banff National Park’s only hot springs pool welcomes you year-round for an authentic heritage experience that is a favourite amongst visitors and locals.
