Day 1 – Travel from Victoria to Valemount
Meet at 7:00 am at the Royal BC Museum to begin our journey to the Rocky Mountains. Your tour guide will start introductions and go over the schedule for the weekend while you drive to the ferry and travel across the gorgeous Georgia straight (with a chance to see dolphins and orcas!). Once on the mainland, we’ll pass through Vancouver and head to the beautiful and scenic Coquihalla Highway to Kamloops, where we will stop for lunch. From Kamloops, we continue to Valemount. We stop en route for you to pick up some dinner supplies. After checking into our hotel in Valemount we get the campfire going and invite you to bring your dinner out to the fire and meet new friends. After dinner you can take part in a game of Hockey in the Rockies! Great fun!
Day 2 – Valemount to Golden
Breakfast (included) before departing Valemount at approximately 8:00 am. Our first stop is Mount Robson – the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. From there we head to Jasper before heading south on the famous Icefields Parkway – named one of the most beautiful drives in the world! Our first stop on the Parkway is Athabasca Falls before we reach the Columbia Icefields. At the Icefields we strongly recommend that you join the Glacier Snowcoach tour. This is a highlight for many of our guests. The enormous Snocoach will take you up onto the Athabasca Glacier for a great photo opportunity (remember your water bottle to taste some of the freshest water in the world!). After the Columbia Icefields we head to stunning Peyto Lake followed by Bow Lake where the brave can try a Polar Wolf Swim! After a full and busy day we check in to our in Golden. There are a number of great restaurants, pubs and sports bars you can visit in Golden.
Day 3 – Banff, Mountain View Cabins (SPECIAL BONUS)
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel (included) before we head to world famous Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. We strongly recommend the Lake Louise Gondola and all-you-can-eat buffet lunch. We LOVE all-you-can-eat buffets! Amazing value and incredible views all the way to Lake Louise. After the Lake Louise area we head over the Kicking Horse Pass to Emerald Lake, one of the most beautiful places to go canoeing (optional). Next is a highlight of the trip for many, spending a few hours in the village of Banff eating, shopping and sightseeing. Stroll down the streets admire the 360 view of mountains. Eat at a local favourite, Tommy’s or enjoy something a little fancier at The Grizzly House. That evening we check into the famous Mountain View Cabins. In the evening we’ll either have a campfire and smores for our last night together.
Day 4 – Golden to Victoria
Today is the last day of your trip to the Rocky Mountains! After breakfast we begin our journey home traveling over Rogers Pass before stopping at The Last Spike on the trans-continental railway. From there we head through the Okanagan Valley. We stop for a relaxing lunch in Kelowna – home to a legendary water monster called Ogopogo! If the weather cooperates we have a beach stop in Kelowna and you have the opportunity for a dip in a beautiful lake. From Kelowna we drive through the Coquihalla Valley. We plan to arrive back in Vancouver at approximately 7:00 pm, where we’ll catch the ferry and be back at the Royal BC Museum in Victoria around 11:30 pm, where your unforgettable journey to the Rocky Mountains will come to an all too soon end.
