Day 1 – Vancouver to Golden, BC

7:30 am Meet at the corner of Cordova St and Seymour St.

This morning we travel through the Fraser Valley with a stop in Hope where Stallone filmed his classic hit First Blood. From there we tour over the Coquihalla Highway (made famous for it’s winter conditions in the TV show Highway Through Hell).

12:00 pm Lunch stop in Kamloops.

In the afternoon we journey past Shuswap Lake (The Houseboat Capital of Canada) and traverse lofty Rogers Pass before dropping down in to the Columbia River Valley where we check in to our EXCLUSIVE Mountain View Cabins in the Rocky Mountains.

7:30 pm Dinner at cabins (included)

The evening is yours to relax around a campfire, sample some s’mores (delicious Canadian delicacies made with marshmallows roasted over the fire tucked in to a Graham cracker sandwich with a piece of chocolate. Decadent but you deserve it!)

Day 2 – Banff National Park : Banff, Lake Louise, Moraine Lake

8:00 am Breakfast at the cabins (included).

This morning we travel through Yoho National Park and up Kicking Horse Pass into Alberta and Banff National Park. Our first stop is the amazingly beautiful Moraine Lake where you have time to climb to the top of the rock pile for some stunning views.

Next we head to the base of the Lake Louise ski area. For those that want a little more adventure you have the option to sign up for the scenic gondola ride that takes you high up above the Bow Valley for stunning views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Louise. Note that the best chance to see bears is from the Lake Louise gondola (** – seeing bears is NOT guaranteed. They are just more common here than elsewhere on the tour.) This option comes with an all-you-can-eat buffet lunch. All for only $xx. Highly recommended!

After you’ve eaten your fill we head to Lake Louise, the most famous lake in the Rockies, for some amazing sightseeing. For the adventurous you can hike up, up and more up to tiny Lake Agnes perched high above Lake Louise. For those that prefer a more leisurely mountain stroll, you can follow the trail to the head of Lake Louise.

After Lake Louise we travel past towering Castle Mountain before reaching Banff – a beautiful Rocky Mountain village tucked away in the shadow of Cascade Mountain, Mount Rundle, and Sulphur Mountain. There you will have free time to explore the town and do a little souvenir shopping. Plus we’ll have dinner in Banff.

9:00 pm – Arrive back at the cabins where you can relax around a campfire and enjoy some star gazing. A perfect end to a great day in the Rockies.

Day 3 – Yoho National Park : Emerald Lake, Takakkaw Falls, Wapta Falls

8:00 am Breakfast at the cabins (included).

We make a quick stop in Golden so you can pick up a picnic lunch for later and then head in to Yoho National Park. Our first adventure is a hike to Wapta Falls. This is an easy hike to a beautiful little waterfall away from the crowds of the better known attractions.

After Wapta we drive further in to Yoho National Park for a stop at the Natural Bridge and a short hike to our secret picnic spot.

After lunch we head over to Emerald Lake. While popular with tourists, Emerald Lake is no where nearly as busy as Lake Louise or Moraine Lake and it’s a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of those lakes. You may want to try canoeing on a mountain lake (optional extra). Talk to your guide for rates and availability.

Our last stop today is towering Takakkaw Falls where you have time to walk right up to the base of the falls and feel the spray on your face.

We stop in Golden to pick up supplies for dinner at the cabins. Tonight you can enjoy a wiener roast around the campfire, do some star gazing, and enjoy being with new friends in the Rockies.

Day 4 – Kootenay National Park & Radium

8:00 am breakfast at cabins (included)

Today we tour THREE National Parks – Yoho, Banff and Kootenay! This morning we retrace our steps to Lake Louise where we get on the Bow Valley Parkway for a scenic drive to Castle Junction. As we enter Kootenay National Park our first stop is at scenic Marble Canyon.

We continue through Kootenay to our hike to isolated Dog Lake. This beautiful hidden gem is not visited nearly as often as the more accessible lakes making it a special spot.

We stop at the Kootenay Valley Viewpoint before heading down to the Village of Radium Hot Springs. We have dinner in Radium.

1900 Check in to our hotel in the heart of Golden. Tonight we have our End of Tour Party with a visit to the ONLY local brewery and then to one of the local pubs to celebrate 4 great days!

Day 5 – Golden to Vancouver

8:00 am – Depart hotel and pick up breakfast

Our first stop is Revelstoke where we pick up some supplies for a picnic lunch. We take a slightly different route going home. We travel through the Northern end of the Okanagan Valley, BC’s summer playground and heart of BC’s famous Wine Country. We pass through Vernon and then stop at the lake front in Kelowna for a picnic.

We have one final rest top before arriving back in Vancouver at approx. 7:30 pm

"I did the Trip to the Rockies at the first weekend of August 2014. And well, it was the best thing I have done in Canada. You'll meet a lot of friendly people and so I made a lot of new, good friends. And of course you will see the most incredible nature and wildlife. My personal favorite is Moraine Lake! Our tourguide Lee and his team did a very good job. He cared about everything and always looked that everybody is happy! So in this way a big thank you to Lee for the amazing trip!"
